For the past 30-years he’s been paying the bills and keeping the lights on by wearing a suit and tie as a consultant lobbyist. His work with municipal government officials from around the world has inspired a fascination with the nature of our communities, the fragility of relationship that sustain them & our collective vulnerability in the in the face of powerful natural and man-made forces, including war and climate change. Magenta is his first novel. It was published by Crowsnest Books. OK...let's get to know John a little better, watch him answer 10 quick questions. You can follow John on his Facebook page. Why did author John Foden chose to set his novel in Sarajevo? Let's find out...Magenta is a harrowing journey into war-torn Sarajevo, and into the blackest reaches of the human condition. The novel follows a journalist, Silva, as she and her team make their way deep into a city under siege, to recover the body of Thierry, an award-winning filmmaker. To find out if Silva herself survives the city, you have to read the book! Magenta was published by Crowsnest Books. As I watch all the news coverage from the Ukraine, I often think of this book and all the brave war correspondents with boots on the ground.
